Scam Advent Calendars
I’m heartbroken to write this, but due to a surge in recent activity, we need to speak out again. As many of you know, our advent calendar is a huge highlight every year, selling out for the past three years—including this year, where we reached a milestone by selling thousands in just a few weeks in early October!
Sadly, this success was quickly overshadowed by scam accounts using our photos, videos, and even footage of me with the calendar to trick people into buying fake products. Despite our best efforts to warn people and report these accounts, social media platforms including Facebook & Instagram have done nothing about this and even Amazon did nothing about our fake calendars being sold on their site. Heartbreakingly, hundreds of people have been scammed—some receiving nothing, while others have been sent fake calendars filled with cheap items (swipe to see an example shared by a victim). You can see how disgusting this is and anyone who has the real one will be able to see the difference – I have not shared the products in our real one just yet as we can’t spoil the surprise, however you can check our highlights reel on Instagram to see the real thing! I just can not believe they have recreated the design so well and even have our official logo on!
Now, our worst fears have come true and we are receiving daily messages, emails, and even negative reviews from those who’ve been deceived. As a small business that has spent 7 years building a 5-star reputation for our quality and service, this is utterly crushing.
We’re sharing this to raise awareness and plead for anyone who has been affected to confirm with us or where they purchased this from before leaving negative reviews about our small business. Please contact your bank, PayPal, or the place you purchased from to dispute these fraudulent transactions. As we’ve repeatedly said, the only place to buy our advent calendar is at www.forelockandfringe.co.uk for £159.99. As a small business this really does have a huge effect on us and is extremely damaging to our brand.
